On the afternoon of March 23, Vice President Zhang Zhaoming investigated the Australian online courses of Sino-Australian Cooperation Program "Food Nutrition and Detection" through an online meeting. The Australian participants included Ms. Phoebe Chen, director of the Australian Association of Education and Training, Ms. Lisa Bale, Director of Teaching and Quality of TAFE Institute of Federation University of Australia, Michael Grant, Director of Online Course Development of TAFE Institute of Federation University of Australia, the heads of Academic Affairs Office, International Affairs Office, School of Food Science and Engineering of our school and other relevant staff attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Ms. Phoebe first reported on the current development and progress of the Australian online courses for the Program,and proposed that this online course adopts the Moodle online education platform. After the joint development of many universities such as theFederation University of Australia, the professional courses of the platform have been developed. It is complete and can be put into use after being approved by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).
Afterwards, Ms. Lisa and Mr. Michael gave a detailed introduction to the important links of the Moodle online education platform, specific courses, student learning process, and after-class feedback. They said that this platform adopts a multimedia interactive interactive mode, which breaks the constraints of learning time and space, learning time and learning scenes are flexible, teaching feedback is more timely, the grasp of learning is more accurate, and effective personalized guidance can be carried out.
After a thorough understanding of the online courses, our school asked series questions about the quantity and quality of online courses, teaching operation and management, student study time limit, experimentalequipment, etc. They also gave answers one by one and expanded a lively discussion.
Finally, Vice President Zhang Zhaoming expressed his sincere gratitude to the Australian side for its efforts for the program, saying that the Moodle online education courses will greatly increase students’ interest in learning, and he also put forward expectations for the online course to improve the teaching effect of the program students, and hoped that the online courses could be opened as soon as possible, and the two parties would work together to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the program.
