On the afternoon of August 11th, Men Huihua, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, was invited to participate in the Establishment of China-Russia (Shandong) International Education and Cooperation Union, relevant staff members accompanied to participate. Heads of 19 well-known universities, vocational colleges and middle schools in Russia, 251 universities, vocational colleges, education bureaus and middle schools in Shandong participated in the activity, about 600 people from China and Russia attended the meeting through online and offline.
The launching ceremony of the meeting was held in Shandong Education TV Station. During the meeting, witnessed by the representatives of both sides, the China-Russia (Shandong) International Education and Cooperation Union was officially established. Deng Yunfeng, Director-General of the Education Department of Shandong, said in his speech that this event is an innovative measure for educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries during the special period of the spread of the pandemic. It is of great significance to further promote all-round education exchanges and cooperation between Shandong and Russia. Cai Xianjin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Government, pointed out in his speech that he will give full play to the advantages of foreign affairs resources and continue to plan and organize educational exchange activities to provide a platform and opportunities for the international cooperation of education in our province, and consolidate the public opinion foundation for friendly exchanges between our province and the SCO countries.
Vladimir Ilyich Tolstoy, the cultural affairs adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, the great great-grandson of the famous Russian writerLeo Tolstoy, and the chairman of the International Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers attended the meeting and delivered an onlinespeech, expressing his congratulations and hope that the cooperation between Shandong and Russia in the field of education will continue to make new progress. Poznyakov, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in China, also delivered an online speech, welcoming more Shandong and Russian schools to develop friendly exchanges and cooperation and jointly contribute to the development of Sino-Russian relations.
After the launching ceremony, the universities of both sides carried out online and offline introduction of their schools, demonstrated the school's characteristics and advantages, and expressed their intention to carry out international exchanges and cooperation. Our school expressedt he willingness to join the China-Russia (Shandong) International Education and Cooperation Union, and proposed cooperation intent on joint training of students, expansion of two-way abroad study, joint scientific research, and joint construction of teaching and research platforms. This dialogue activity is of great significance to continue to promote the development of the “Belt and Road” initiative, expand the areas of cooperation between our school and Russian universities, and carry out substantive cooperation.
The China-Russia (Shandong) International Education and Cooperation Union is a non-profit organization jointly initiated by relevant universities, vocational colleges, middle schools in Shandong and relevant Russian schools under the support and guidance of the Shandong Education Department and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. It aims at creating a high-end platform for international cooperation in education, gathering high-quality educational resources from China and Russia extensively, establishing a bridge for friendly exchanges between schools of both sides, and playing a role in practically promoting cultural exchanges between China and Russia.
