On the morning of September 10th, Mr. Mark Fidge, President of TAFE Institute of Southwest Australia, Mr. John Cook, International Commissioner, and Ms. Phoebe CHEN, Director of the Association of Education and Training, Australia, visited our school. President Wang Xikui and Vice President Zhang Zhaoming welcomed them warmly. The directors of the North Campus Management Office, International Exchange and Cooperation Office, School of Food Science and Engineering, and School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering also attended the meeting.
President Wang Xikui first extended a sincere welcome to the visit of President Mark Fidge and his party, and briefly introduced the general information of our school's characteristics, teaching philosophy, foreign cooperation and exchanges, and campus construction. He said that he was very pleased to meet with President Mark Fidge on a special holiday—Teachers' Day. He expressed his affirmation and support for the cooperation between the two universities and raised expectations for further improving the domestic and foreign influence of Sino-Australian cooperativeprogram. President Mark first thanked our school for the warm reception and made a detailed introduction to thecourses characteristics andteaching philosophy of TAFE Institute of Southwest Australia. He affirmed the achievements of China-Australia cooperation in Food Nutrition and Inspection, and hoped to deepen cooperation and optimize the model on the soundand solidbasis, and let the China-Australian College flourish and bear fruits, which is co-hosted by the two universities, in the near future.
Participants from both sides had a fruitful discussion on the specific issues of the operation of the China-Australian College, and put forward constructive suggestions on how to strengthen the cooperation between the two sides. Finally, President Mark also sincerely invited our delegation to visit TAFE Institute in Southwest Australia at an appropriate time, and looked forward to more cooperation between the two parties.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited some of our laboratories. In the laboratory of the School of Food Science and Engineering, the delegation observed the process of baked food by students and tasted the moon cakes designed by students. In the laboratory of the Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, the delegation visited the works designed and produced by students in various fields such as electrical control, smart home, agricultural Internet of Things, and intelligent agricultural machinery. The Australian delegation showed great interest in the students' design works and highly praised the comprehensive quality and innovative ability of our students.
The visit of the TAFE Institute delegation of Southwest Australia has enhanced the friendship and mutual trust between the two sides, and has further promoted the process of Sino-foreign cooperationeducation and international development of our school.
