Recently, the results of the 4th National Mathematical Modeling Micro-Course (Case) Teaching Competition were announced. The modeling micro-lecture work "Infectious Disease Model-COVID 19 Prediction" by Wang Yanling, a mathematics teacher in our school, won the first prize in the country, setting the best result of the competition in our school.
The National Mathematical Modeling Micro-Course (Case) Teaching Contest is jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of the National Mathematical Modeling Contest for College Students and the Mathematical Modeling Committee of the Chinese Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. This competition is the highest-level, largest, and most influential special competition for mathematical modeling micro-lecture teaching in the country. It aims to play a demonstration and leading role in the teaching of mathematical modeling in the country. At the end of this competition, 5 first prizes, 8 second prizes and 12 third prizes were awarded.
With the high attention and support of the school and department leaders, the participating teachers carefully polished their works, passed the online preliminaries, and conducted on-site finals from the background of the case, the formulation of the problem, the establishment of the model, the solution process and the application of the model. With superb teaching skills, carefully polished modeling cases, and intense competition, excellent results have been obtained. This is the result of our school's high emphasis on and strong support for mathematical modeling teaching and competition training over the years, and also the result of our school's long-term emphasis on the training of young teachers and the quality of teaching.
